Spotted! 2013 Nissan Altima Seen Cruising Michigan Streets

We wouldn't call it spying so much as "doing research," but either way, our friends at Automobile magazine have seen the newest edition to the Nissan lineup doing some testing on the highways of Michigan state.

The 2013 variant of the best-selling Nissan Altima certainly resembles this year's models, but it's also noticeably larger, especially in its rear quarters, which should increase leg room and cargo space. There are also apparently new triangular rear quarter windows that lead to a unique concave appearance for the car's C-pillar. As far as new technologies go, experts expect the 2013 Altima to come in a hybrid drivetrain variant, but other engine types are merely speculation at this point. As Automobile explains, "Some reports suggest the car will continue to offer a choice between a small four-cylinder and a 3.5-liter V-6. Given Nissan's expertise and affinity with continuously variable transmissions, expect them to be standard."2

Although we probably won't hear much about the new Nissan Altima until closer to its expected debut at the end of the year, we can tell you that Nissan CEO Ghosn has asserted that he believes the vehicle will be a "very strong contender"1 in its segment within the market, which means it will probably target the Toyota Camry as its number one competitor.

To learn more about the new Altima, stay tuned here with Crystal Nissan, located at 937 South Suncoast Blvd Homosassa, FL 34448, for more information as it becomes available. We'll be sure to keep you "in the know!"
