Have you seen the popular non-scripted television show GT Academy on Spike TV? If not, you'll have an opportunity to do so when the show reappears for its second season this fall. Motivated by a partnership between Sony Computer Entertainment America and Nissan North America, the show dares gamers and racing fans to participate in a series of time trials online in new Nissan vehicles for the chance of becoming a real-life racecar driver. The 2011 competition enticed over 53,000 participants across the U.S., but Bryan Heitkotter of California seized the title of winner. He now races for Nissan in the Middle East, Europe, and the U.S.

Spied! The Refreshed 2013 Nissan Altima

It shouldn't lose its design identity altogether, but the Nissan Altima does seem to be receiving quite a dramatic refresh for the 2013 model year. Set to premiere at the New York Auto Show coming up soon in early April alongside the new Infiniti LE concept (luxury electric) sedan. The next-generation Altima has been spied testing in various markets, but it's still heavily camouflaged. We can spot a few new details on the new Altima, however.

Spotted! 2013 Nissan Altima Seen Cruising Michigan Streets

We wouldn't call it spying so much as "doing research," but either way, our friends at Automobile magazine have seen the newest edition to the Nissan lineup doing some testing on the highways of Michigan state.

Refreshed Nissan 370Z to Hit the 2012 Chicago Auto Show

The current, 2012 Nissan 370Z is one of our favorite vehicles here at Crystal Nissan, located at 937 South Suncoast Blvd Homosassa, FL 3448. That's one of the reasons we were so excited to see what Nissan has planned for this vehicle in the near future. For the 2013 model year, the Japanese auto manufacturer recently premiered a refreshed variant of the 370Z, several days before the scheduled press days at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, where it will be presented along with several other new Nissan models.

Nissan Takes Engine Partnership to the Next Level

Japanese auto manufacturer Nissan and German auto manufacturer Mercedes-Benz may speak different languages in their home countries, but when it comes to engines, they seem to have a translator. The two companies joined two years ago in the Mercedes-Benz Renault-Nissan Alliance to develop new technologies. (Renault is a French car company which has been working with Nissan specifically on developing electric vehicles).  As far as the new initiative goes, it seems Nissan will be producing engines for Mercedes-Benz four-cylinder gasoline engines in 2014 at the Nissan plant in Tennessee, for its new luxury brand Infiniti's C-Class and various other Infiniti models.

Nissan Unveils New Pathfinder Design

The family-friendly Nissan Pathfinder is getting a new look next year. Very recently, Nissan premiered its new 2013 concept for the Pathfinder at the Detroit Auto Show this week, but the concept is almost identical to the version that will hit showroom floors around the nation, like the one at Crystal Nissan, located in Homosassa, FL. One of the twenty redesigned or new products Nissan plans to bring to the U.S. over the course of the next two years, the new Pathfinder is quite a sight to behold.

Nissan Leaf Powers Smart House

Criticism surrounding the Nissan Leaf usually doesn't revolve around the vehicle's appearance, sustainability, or functionality; rather, critics wonder what will become of the Leaf's battery after it can no longer power the car. Nissan has been researching ways to recycle and reuse these batteries for a while now. One of the company's projects even suggested that the "old" Leaf batteries, even after becoming non-functional for the automobile, could still power several homes during times of power loss or emergency. Nissan has now proven this hypothesis with its Smart House, which debuted at the 2011 Toyko Motor show.
